While we ideally want to turn off the thinking brain when walking a labyrinth, I had mine fully engaged yesterday as I tried to “find” it under the snow and track out the path in snowshoes. You’d think the pattern would be ingrained in me by now, having constructed the labyrinth in 2019 and walked it many times since. But I kind of like that it’s not, and how I sometimes lose track of where I am along the path.

In any case, the path is now successfully tracked-out and should be obvious to follow. And the trail, from parking to labyrinth, which had been closed due to unevenness from heavy logging work in the fall, is now frozen over. if conditions change substantially, I will update the labyrinth conditions page.

While the trail from the parking, and the labyrinth itself, could probably be managed in tall boots, I really do recommend snowshoes… it’s a lot easier going, and a far more peaceful experience. The forest is looking beautiful, even magical, from all the recent snow we have had so feel welcome to experience a truly Canadian labyrinth experience. And if you don’t have snowshoes, you’ll find a couple pairs at my front door you can borrow… they fit most winter boots.
